Using grooving static bass lines and more funk elements than ever before, Newcastle’s The Reign has created a fun dose of dirty house in the 3 tracks on Just Listen EP.

“On early Reign tracks, I always felt I had to be able to justify every note,” says producer Tim Hutchinson. “Now I just let it all hang out and, if it sounds good, I move on.”

As evidenced with Just Listen EP, this move to a looser technique serves Hutchinson well. Each track has a flavour all its own, ranging from dark and cynical to playful and amorous.
